Switzerland Part 2

I came home from Switzerland a few days ago. We were staying in a little village called Vengen in a hotel at the top of the mountains, which meant that the journey to the airport was rather tiring; having to run to quickly catch our 4 trains. However, I love long train journeys and listening to Bon Iver while driving past opal lakes and adorable wooden houses wasn't too difficult.

Also, here's a picture of me paragliding! I was absolutely terrified to begin with - the instructor counting down from three before I was to jump off a cliff. However once I was in the air I calmed down; overwhelmed by my adrenaline, joy and excitement that I was FLYING.

Switzerland - Part 1

I've finally got wifi in my hotel room in Switzerland so I can share some photos over the first few days. The first few photos are from a long walk in the mountains. One day, my little cousins and I were stopped by a little Indian man who asked to give them a gift. To our surprise; in the middle of the mountains he got out some colourful balloons and made them into a teddy bear and a flower. My little cousins were ecstatic and delighted with their present - and the man simply tapped my aunt's shoulder and told her: 'just be happy and healthy' and disappeared off into the mountains. We were all wondering whether that really happened? It was simply so bizarre and special.
Later that day we stopped for lunch at a little restaurant by a cliff where we all ordered the famous swiss national food of rosti and eggs. Rosti is basically the same as chips but cut into very thin pieces - almost like spaghetti; and about ten times as oily but nonetheless extremely delicious!
Yesterday we went to the top of a snowy mountain called Jungfrau where we went to an ice palace and had fun tobogganing down icy slopes. My cousins looked like little eskimos in their adorable colourful snowsuits!

Violet Macaroons

Looking through this post, I realise the huge photo overload which I am uploading - but I have been simply unable to chose only a few photos which sum up my wonderful day which I spent with my beautiful American cousin, Rachel. Everything was just so pretty and I was snapping away constantly. It begun at our fancy breakfast at the Wolsey and then to a wander around Fortnum and Maison (where we bought a box of their chocolate truffles!), next a quick pop into the macaroon shop, Laudree (I bought violet and marshmallow flavour and Rachel bought salted caramel), after, a look around the impressionist art exhibition at the royal academy (which was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take any photos there) and finally to Soho Secret Tea rooms for a relaxing afternoon tea. When I get into taking pictures of pretty food, I simply get carried away - and our tea was no exception; especially when everything is so tastefully presented.

Wales

Sorry for the lack of posting for a while but I have been away on camp in Wales. After spending hours sorting out and editing the hundreds of photos which I took there, I can finally upload my favorites. The first few are from a beautiful three day hike across the coast and a stop at a tiny village called St Davids (which is the smallest city in the world) where we bought delicious homemade ice-cream. The last ones are from the campsite where we were based for the majority of the time. My friend and I (in the penultimate  photo) were dressed in costume for a day entertaining younger kids.

Hope you are all having a lovely summer!
